Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the classrooms have not been broken up into subject silos
And assessment, by narrow standardized tests
Where problem solving springs come from creative critical thinking
Where inquirers and risktakers spin the yarns of tireless perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the ephemeral edutainment gimmick
Where good feedback causes thinking
Leading the learners to own their learning
Into that collective conscience, my fellow teachers, let our learning spaces awake.

Of Moon beams and Twinkling stars
On that day in mid-June, in a "state of heightened reality," with all the other elements of the painting in place, Van Gogh threw himself into the painting of the stars, producing, "a night sky unlike any other the world had ever seen with ordinary eyes." write biographers Naifeh and Smith in 2011. He painted this magnum opus when he was 36, just a year before he committed suicide.
